CARE 101: Foundations of Inclusive Advising (Monday, February 16, 2026 @7pm)

Description

Foundations of Inclusive Advising of the C.A.R.E. TRIO Student Services Academy provides the essential groundwork for coaching, advising, retention, and student engagement in federally funded TRIO programs. Participants will define core inclusive advising values, identify barriers facing first-generation and low-income students, and strengthen their ability to support students through equity-centered practices. This session also builds confidence in FERPA compliance, ethical decision-making, and professional documentation through hands-on activities, templates, and practical advising tools that can be applied immediately.
